Alyssa Sellors taught English and Journalism for about seven years before retiring from her teaching career to work as a full-time freelance writer. As a writer, Alyssa has extensive experience writing for various publications and working with clients representing a number of industries. She also has experience building website content (from professional blog postings to general web content), writing academically, editing and proofreading, and general copy writing. Her topics of expertise vary from health and fitness to tech news.
Alyssa has a Bachelors Degree of Science in Secondary English Education from Kennesaw State University and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree of Arts in Applied Writing, also from Kennesaw State University. Alyssa has also completed the ASNE Reynolds Journalism Institute , held at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, Arizona, and was an active member of JEA and NSPA as a speaker at their bi-annual national conventions.
Alyssa lives in Marietta, Georgia with her two chihuahuas, husband, and two baby boys. She loves blogging, reading, and baking, and sometimes misses teaching (high school kids keep you young!). Some of her favorite things include traveling to walking cities, smelling coffee in the morning (decaf only please!), and the feeling of sending an attachment of a completed piece of writing. Her hobbies include fitness and nutrition, and of course, wine tasting.
